Mitch Tyson joined Advanced Electron Beams as CEO and Director in October 2005, upon the completion of the company's Series A round of venture funding.

Advanced Electron Beams (AEB) has developed one of the worlds most efficient and clean forms of industrial energy. AEB captures the power of electron beams in a cost-effective, compact form factor, enabling customers to use this clean energy source in industrial applications ranging from surface sterilization to pollution abatement to printing and polymer treatment and beyond. Prior to joining Advanced Electron Beams, Mitch was a corporate consultant and lecturer, serving on multiple industry, government, and corporate boards of directors, and advising start-up organizations and venture capital firms.

Before working as a consultant Mitch was the CEO of PRI Automation, a publicly traded corporation that supplied automation systems including hardware, software and services for the semiconductor industry. From 1987 to 2002, he held positions of increasing management responsibility, and helped transform PRI Automation from a small robotics manufacturer to the world's leading supplier of semiconductor fab automation systems. Mitch managed the growth of the company from $4 million to over $300 million in revenue, and guided the company through its successful IPO. Previously, Mitch worked at GCA Corporation and served as science advisor and legislative assistant for energy to U.S. Senator Paul Tsongas.

Mitch is a co-founder of the New England Clean Energy Council whose mission is to accelerate New England’s clean energy economy to global leadership by building an active community of stakeholders and a world-class cluster of clean energy companies. Mitch serves on the Executive Committee and heads the CEO Council. Mitch also serves on the executive and governing boards of John Adams Innovation Institute, a quasi-public state agency focused on promoting high tech economic development in Massachusetts, the Mass High Technology Council Board, UMASS High Tech Executive Council, and the Massport Security Advisory Council.

Mitch also serves on the board of Photronics, Inc., a manufacturer of photomasks for the flat panel display and semiconductor industries.

He has a Bachelors of Science in Physics, a Masters of Science in Nuclear Engineering, and a second Masters of Science in Political Science, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Jim Hoffmaster

 Senior Vice President of Engineering & Operations

Jim Hoffmaster joined Advanced Electron Beams in July 2008 as Senior Vice President, Engineering and Operations.  In this role, Jim oversees engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and field support.  AEB captures the power of electron beams in a cost-effective, compact form factor, enabling customers to use this clean energy source in industrial applications ranging from surface sterilization to pollution abatement to printing and polymer treatment resulting in energy savings, reduced pollution, lower water consumption, and improved productivity.

Prior to joining Advanced Electron Beams, Jim was Chief Operating Officer of Cognex Corporation, a position he held for six years.  Cognex is the world's leading supplier of machine vision sensors and systems used to automate manufacturing in a broad range of industries.  Under Jim's leadership, Cognex doubled the rate at which new products were brought to market, raised product quality to world-class levels and established leading positions in new, fast growing markets for machine vision.  Prior to Cognex, Jim spent eleven years with Emerson, a diversified global manufacturing and technology company.  As Senior Vice President of Technology, then President, of the Emerson Systems Division, he led efforts to bring the DeltaV industrial control system to market in half the time historically taken, revolutionizing the process control industry and moving Emerson into worldwide leadership in this segment.  Prior to Emerson, Jim had been Vice President of Engineering for Harris Graphics, Vice President of Research and Development for Otis Elevator, and Vice President of Engineering for Bailey Controls.

Jim has a broad range of operating management experience and a track record of bringing innovative industrial products to market, establishing technological leadership, and building world class manufacturing capability.

Jim received his Bachelors Degree in Economics and his Masters Degree in Computer Science from Cleveland State University.

Dave Icke

Dave Icke

 Vice President of Marketing

Dave Icke joined Advanced Electron Beams in October 2005 as the company's Vice President of Marketing, with responsibility for product management, product marketing, applications engineering and communications. AEB captures the power of electron beams in a cost-effective, compact form factor, enabling customers to use this clean energy source in industrial applications ranging from surface sterilization to pollution abatement to printing and polymer treatment and beyond.

Prior to joining Advanced Electron Beams. Dave held several general management roles at Teradyne, a leading supplier of automated test equipment to the semiconductor industry. While at Teradyne, Dave ran the Wireless and Consumer Business Units within the Semiconductor Test Division, with responsibility for annual sales of up to $500M. Before Teradyne, Dave held a series of customer-focused roles over eleven years with KLA-Tencor Corporation, the leading supplier of process control and diagnostics solutions to the semiconductor industry. As Vice President of Marketing of the Electron Beam Review Division, Dave was the senior KLA executive relocated to integrate the acquisition of Amray, a privately held supplier of scanning electron microscopes. Previously, Dave was Vice President of Marketing for the Wafer Inspection Division, KLA-Tencor's largest business. Earlier in his career, in both marketing and applications management roles at KLA, Dave worked closely with customers worldwide to introduce new wafer inspection products. He began his professional career at Cypress Semiconductor as a Process Development Engineer.

Dave received his Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University and his Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Larry Mihalchik

 Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer

Larry Mihalchik joined Advanced Electron Beams as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer in June 2007.  In this role, Larry is responsible all financial and administrative functions of the company. AEB captures the power of electron beams in a cost-effective, compact form factor, enabling customers to use this clean energy source in industrial applications ranging from surface sterilization to pollution abatement to printing and polymer treatment and beyond.

Larry has a broad range of financial management experience with both private and public companies, complemented by a general management background in technology firms. He has led two companies through public offerings, managed numerous acquisitions, and negotiated the sale of three public companies. Throughout his career, Larry has focused on the growth and development of companies to achieve their full potential and, in turn, to increase the value of the enterprise for its stakeholders.

Prior to joining Advanced Electron Beams, Larry held CFO and senior level positions at companies including Envox Worldwide, Clare, Inc., Atex Media Solutions, M/A Com, The Timberland Company, and Chomerics, Inc. He has also served on the Board of Directors of both private and public companies.

Larry obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration/Finance from Westminster College (PA), which was followed by receiving his CPA certificate.

Brian Phillips

Brian Phillips

 Vice President of Sales

Brian Phillips joined Advanced Electron Beams in September 2007 as the company's Vice President of Sales. AEB captures the power of electron beams in a cost-effective, compact form factor, enabling customers to use this clean energy source in industrial applications ranging from surface sterilization to pollution abatement to printing and polymer treatment and beyond.

Prior to joining Advanced Electron Beams, Brian spent 13 years at Cognex Corporation, a supplier of machine vision sensors and systems. He most recently held the position of Vice President of Sales for the Americas, responsible for all lines of business in the United States, Canada and Mexico, as well as Central and South America. Prior to Cognex, he worked in sales positions at Texas Instruments/Siemens and Furnace Electric.

Brian received his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.
